Guoyong Yan is a Professor and PhD supervisor in Academician Keping Ma's research group at the Northeast Asia Biodiversity Research Center. His research focuses on forest biodiversity and ecosystem functioning, with particular interest in how plant diversity and soil biodiversity interact to regulate forest ecosystem functions under environmental change.
In recent years, he has led several research projects, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China , the Shandong Provincial Natural Science Foundation and the Youth Innovation Science and Technology Support Program of Shandong Higher Education Institutions. He has published more than 60 SCI papers, including over 30 first-author or corresponding-author papers in leading international journals such as Nature Communications, National Science Review, Global Change Biology, Journal of Ecology, and Soil Biology & Biochemistry. He has also been granted two national invention patents.
He currently serves as an Early Career Editorial Board Member of Journal of Plant Ecology and as an editorial board member of Chinese Journal of Applied Ecology and Chinese Journal of Ecology.
Professor Yan is continuously recruiting domestic and international students in Ecology and Forestry. Prospective students with interests in biodiversity, forest ecology, soil biodiversity, ecosystem functioning, and global change ecology are welcome to apply.
