Feng Zhao is a professor in the Department of Forest Management at Northeast Forestry University in China. Feng received her PhD in Geographical Sciences (2015') from University of Maryland, College Park, with the Ann Wylie Dissertation Award and Excellence in Graduate Research. Her research focuses on improving the spatio-temporal characterization of large scale forest dynamics, by integrating time series optical/SAR data and deep learning models. She is also excited about the potential of AI foundation models to advance earth observation.
